The market was left in a state of confusion when the RD was removed. In order to alleviate this confusion, we published a comprehensive blog post, The blog post clarified that the RD on cars above 1800cc did not drop to 0% after August 2022, but instead returned to its previous level of 70%, resulting in minimal price differences.
However, there is much more interest in cars up to 1800cc, which are more popular among the general public for daily use. These include a variety of 660cc Japanese cars such as the Toyota Aqua, Passo, Honda Vezel, Insight, and Fit. The question on everyone’s mind is whether the complete reversal of the RD will result in a significant decrease in their prices.

Impact on Prices
It is expected that the prices of pre-owned cars with engines up to 1800cc will decrease, but the effect of removing the RD may not be significant due to the introduction of the new GST and the devaluation of the Pakistani Rupee against the US Dollar.
The current economic conditions in Pakistan are quite volatile, so the situation for both sellers and buyers will remain uncertain until there is more stability.
